LYME REGIS TOWN BAND EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES POLICY

Lyme Regis Town Band is committed to providing equal opportunities for all members and potential members. This means that all members will receive equal treatment regardless of sex, marital status, race, colour, nationality, ethnic origins or disability.

The Committee of the band recognises that its most important resource is its membership and is committed to using this resource in a fair and effective way.

The Committee is fully aware of the Equalities Act 2010 and accepts that it is unlawful to discriminate against individuals either directly or indirectly in respect of their race or sex.

The Band will select venues for training, practice and rehearsals where the disabled have adequate access and facilities and the Town Band will perform in public, where possible, where full provision for the disabled are available.

This policy and its implications will be reviewed by the Committee annually at the Committee meeting prior to the Annual General Meeting and all members of the Band will be made aware of the policy.
